Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It’s a privilege to be back in Olympia serving you! With only a few days to go, the upcoming legislative session begins Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. I’d like to personally thank all the people, business leaders, service organizations and school representatives who took the time to meet with me during the past few months. I’m consistently reminded how critical your input is to the legislative process.

As we prepare to address the issues facing our communities and state, my legislative goals remain the same—protecting your property and water rights, finding solutions for our homeless population, creating more rural mental health outreach and facilities, and fixing our congested highways.

By working together, we can have a profound effect on the efficiency, accountability, and success of our state government.

Tracking a bill?

Click here to see a complete list of the bills pre-filed by members prior to the start of the 2019 session. In addition, when you visit my website you can easily view the legislation I’m sponsoring or co-sponsoring by clicking “Sponsored Bills.”

Here is a quick set of “bill tracking” instructions:

  • Go to leg.wa.gov
  • On the left-hand panel, click “Bill Information.”
  • If you know the bill number, enter it in the search field and hit enter.
  • Don’t have a bill number? Under the section Bills by Topic,” you’ll find alternative tracking tools. You can search based on topic, bill number, and initiative.
  • If you click on the House Floor Calendar, this helpful tool gives you a detailed list of all bills scheduled to be heard on the House floor each day.

Need more information? Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you need more details on specific bills or key public policy proposals.

House Page Program

I’d like to encourage students between the ages of 14-16 years to participate in the House Page Program. During the session, each legislator can sponsor several pages. Without a doubt, the experience of spending a week in Olympia becomes a lifetime highlight for many of them!

Pages must be between the ages of 14-16 years. In order to participate, they need to get permission from their parents and school. Pages are paid $35 a day. You can access the page application here. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my Olympia office.

I work for you!

Your input helps me do a better job of representing your values in Olympia. If you are planning a trip to Olympia, feel free to stop by or call my office to schedule a meeting. I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for allowing me to serve as your state representative.

Sincerely,

Carolyn Eslick
